Duna College is honored to commence its collaboration with University of Nicosia (UNIC) – Medical School in June 2025.

We are pleased to inform you that the Duna College Pre-medical program has been approved as the direct entry to the year 1 of the 6-year medical program, at University of Nicosia (UNIC) – Medical School. 

 

University of Nicosia 

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) stands as the largest institution of higher education in Southern Europe that primarily conducts its classes in English, with over 11,500 students hailing from more than 100 nations participating in an innovative and transformative educational environment. Situated in Nicosia, the capital of the Cyprus, and maintaining a presence in 18 other cities around the world.

The University has maintained its position within the top 501-600 universities worldwide for the third year in a row, as reported in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR).

 

 

Medical School 

In the last twenty years, the University of Nicosia has been at the forefront of establishing life and health sciences courses in Cyprus. In 2011, the University of Nicosia launched the first medical program in Cyprus by introducing the graduate-entry Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program from St George’s, University of London.

Over 1000 students from 90 different nations globally are studying at the Medical School, including individuals from countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

 

Admission Criteria

Duna College students have the opportunity to be accepted directly into the first year of:

  • The 6-year medical program at University of Nicosia (UNIC) – Medical School. 
  • Doctor of Veterinary 

Requirements for the admission involves:

  1. Successfully graduation from Pre-medical program of Duna College that means students must achieve scores 4 and higher and at least one 5 within their major subjects including biology, chemistry or physiology. 
  2. Evidence of English language proficiency including: 
  • 6.5 overall in the IELTS (with 6.5 in writing and a minimum of 6.0 in all other elements),
  • Or: 79 in TOEFL iBT
  • Or: grade 5 in the GCSE (or B with the old grading system),
  • Or: a score of 5 in English in the International Baccalaureate Standard Level (SL),
  • Or: a score of 8 in English in the European Baccalaureate.
